42CrMo alloy steel precision casting
Our custom 42CrMo alloy steel precision castings are manufactured via professional silica sol lost wax investment casting technology, fully compliant with GB/T 3077 standard and equivalent to AISI 4140 / 42CrMo4 grade chromium-molybdenum alloy steel. As a professional OEM precision casting manufacturer, we deliver near-net-shape complex structural components with ultra-tight dimensional tolerance, smooth as-cast surface and stable consistent mechanical performance, perfectly solving the processing difficulty of irregular, thin-wall, multi-cavity heavy-load parts that forging and ordinary sand casting cannot realize efficiently.
42CrMo is a widely recognized medium-carbon alloy structural steel integrated with Cr and Mo elements. Chromium greatly improves hardenability, wear resistance and anti-corrosion capacity; molybdenum eliminates high-temperature temper brittleness and enhances high-temperature strength and fatigue resistance. After complete quenching & tempering heat treatment, the material achieves balanced ultra-high tensile strength, outstanding low-temperature impact toughness and long-cycle anti-fatigue performance, far superior to regular carbon steel and 40Cr steel for heavy-duty working conditions.
Core Material Performance Advantages
- Excellent deep hardenability: Uniform mechanical properties from surface to core even for thick-section castings up to 100mm, avoiding local strength deficiency under heavy load impact
- Balanced strength & toughness: Tempered tensile strength ≥1080MPa, stable impact resistance at low temperature, not easy to crack under alternating stress, shock and overload
- Superior fatigue resistance: Ideal for rotating, reciprocating and transmission parts enduring long-time cyclic load, effectively extending service life
- Good thermal stability: Maintains stable mechanical performance under medium-high temperature working environment, less prone to softening and deformation
- Moderate machinability: Easy for CNC turning, milling, drilling and surface finishing after casting & heat treatment, supporting secondary precision machining as customer demands
